While her last names come from parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell, her first middle name Eilish is the Gaelic version of Elizabeth, according to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum<\/a>. As for Pirate, her then 4-year-old brother Finneas called her that before she was born.<\/p>\n

“They called me Pirate for months, and they were kind of planning on naming me Pirate,” the singer revealed in her 2020 audiobook Billie Eilish – In Her Own Words. “And soon before I was born, my grandfather died, and his name was William, a.k.a.
