\n\tTaipei Arena erupted on Saturday night as the 37th Golden Melody Awards<\/a> \u2013 the Grammys of the Mandarin pop world \u2013 delivered one of its most memorable ceremonies, with pop titan Jolin Tsai<\/a> walking away with the evening\u2019s ultimate prize. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Golden Melody Awards have long served as the definitive measure of excellence across Mandarin, Taiwanese, Hakka, and Indigenous-language music.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe night\u2019s defining moment came when Jolin Tsai\u2019s album \u201cPleasure,\u201d released through Warner Music Taiwan, claimed Album of the Year. Fittingly, \u201cPleasure\u201d had already powered her to the Best Mandarin Female Singer award earlier in the night, making it a landmark double for one of Asia\u2019s most enduring entertainers.<\/p>\n

\n\tSinger-songwriter Chang Chen-yue<\/a> owned the performance and craft awards. His album \u201cWalk with Feelings,\u201d released via Rock Records, earned him Best Mandarin Album, while he also took home Best Mandarin Male Singer and Best Composer.<\/p>\n

\n\tSong of the Year went to \u201cSinging with Happiness,\u201d the theme song (Happy Version) from the film \u201cThe Sunshine Girls Choir,\u201d performed by A-Lin and composed by Li Fangrui with lyrics by Lin Xiaoqian.<\/p>\n

\n\tBest Taiwanese Album went to Ricky Hsiao for \u201cBe a Kind and Soft-Hearted Person\u201d (Warner Music Taiwan), with Hsiao also claiming Best Taiwanese Male Singer. PiA Wu Bei-ya took Best Taiwanese Female Singer for \u201cFirst Experience of Divorce.\u201d In the Hakka category, Huang Yu-han\u2019s \u201cNgai\u201d won Best Hakka Album, while Sarah Chen Yi-nuo claimed Best Hakka Singer for \u201cSlow Flower Journal.\u201d The Indigenous language awards went to Outlet Drift\u2019s \u201cMasonolay i Cepo’\u201d for Best Indigenous Language Album and to the beloved Suming Rupi, who won Best Indigenous Language Singer for \u201cMikerid Guiding the Way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe group categories delivered two distinct flavors of excellence. Sunset Rollercoaster \u2013 the beloved Taiwanese indie outfit comprising Tseng Kuo-hung, Lo Tsun-lung, Chen Hung-li, Wang Shao-hsuan, and Huang Hao-ting \u2013 claimed Best Musical Group for their album \u201cQuit Quietly,\u201d a win that delighted their devoted following. Meanwhile, girl group Genblue took Best Vocal Group for \u201cMirror,\u201d marking a rising generation\u2019s arrival on the Golden Melody stage.<\/p>\n

\n\tBest Newcomer was awarded to Chen Xianjing for \u201cWho Wants to be Sad if Every Day Could be Happy Happy,\u201d a win that introduced a vibrant new voice to Taiwan\u2019s music scene.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe technical awards recognized the craftspeople behind the music. \u201cPleasure\u201d \u2013 Jolin\u2019s triumphant album \u2013 also earned Best Vocal Recording Album, a sweep that made clear the project\u2019s excellence extended from performance to production. \u00d8ZI and The Crane were named Best Single Producer for \u201cFinal Final Final,\u201d while Jude and Chui Chin-hung claimed Best Arranger for \u201cLeaving the Silver Wilderness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Jury Award went to Chen Xiao-xia\u2019s \u201cOld Wings\u201d album. The Special Contribution Award was presented to two legends: Lin Huang-kun and the late Tu Ying, whose lifetimes of work helped build the very stage upon which tonight\u2019s winners stood.<\/p>\n
