{"id":515501,"date":"2026-06-28T19:20:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T19:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/515501\/"},"modified":"2026-06-28T19:20:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T19:20:10","slug":"israel-lauds-slovenia-for-jerusalem-embassy-move-revoking-palestine-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/515501\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel lauds Slovenia for Jerusalem embassy move, revoking Palestine recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new Slovenian Prime Minister, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/international\/article-897143\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Janez Jansa<\/a>, plans to repair ties between Ljubljana and Jerusalem and relocate the Slovenian embassy from Tel Aviv to the capital of Israel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Jansa revealed this in an exclusive interview with Israel Hayom over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He also promised to reverse the previous government\u2019s decision to recognize a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/palestinian-statehood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Palestinian state<\/a>, something Jansa said is in violation of Slovenian law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cWe will uphold the law and freeze their illegal decision,\u201d he told Israel Hayom. \u201cWe raised this as a condition for our participation in the coalition negotiations, and everyone agreed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Jansa has visited Israel on numerous occasions, including in the immediate aftermath of the October 7 massacre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">He said Israel and Slovenia share \u201cmany of the same challenges,\u201d including \u201cterrorism, extremism, the erosion of national identity, and growing geopolitical pressures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cInstead of distancing themselves from one another, they must increase cooperation.
