\n\tRIYADH:\u00a0Jordan\u2019s exports to EU countries reached\u00a0218 million Jordanian dinars ($307.48 million) during the first four months of 2026, up\u00a049.3 percent\u00a0from the same period a year earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tMohammed Samadi,\u00a0chairman\u00a0of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, described the growth as a strong validation of the competitiveness of Jordanian products in global markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThe\u00a0EU is one of Jordan\u2019s key trading partners, with the country working to diversify its exports and strengthen its presence in European markets as part of broader efforts to boost trade, attract investment, and support long-term economic growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tIn remarks to the state news agency Petra, Samadi\u00a0said\u00a0the\u00a0substantial\u00a0rise underscores the success of recent initiatives to broaden the scope of Jordanian exports and seize opportunities arising from\u00a0the diversification of European markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tEarlier this month, Petra reported that Jordan\u2019s national exports\u00a0during\u00a0the first quarter of 2026\u00a0totaled\u00a02.12 billion dinars, a 1.6 percent increase\u00a0from\u00a0the same period\u00a0of\u00a02025.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThe EU is one of the Kingdom\u2019s key trading partners and one of the world\u2019s largest trade blocs, making it difficult to diversify economic and trade relations with this destination, given the reliance on a limited number of traditional options,\u201d\u00a0said Samadi.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tHe added that this growth also confirms\u00a0the\u00a0efforts of\u00a0the\u00a0public and private sectors to\u00a0enhance\u00a0the presence of Jordanian products in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSectors such as industrial, food, pharmaceutical, and chemical products are particularly well-positioned, presenting promising opportunities for further expansion into EU markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSamadi\u00a0said the next phase requires intensified efforts to promote Jordanian products in European markets while capitalizing on shifts in global supply chains.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tHe stressed the need to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors to better support national exporters. Key measures include streamlining trade procedures, developing\u00a0logistics\u00a0services, and reducing production and export costs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSamadi\u00a0added that these\u00a0measures\u00a0would enable national companies to increase their competitiveness and expand into European markets.\u00a0<\/p>\n
