U.S. stock futures were little changed on Monday night after the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose to a fresh record close.<\/p>\n
Dow futures<\/a> fell by 43 points, or less than 0.1%. S&P 500 futures<\/a> and Nasdaq 100 futures<\/a> both dipped less than 0.1%.<\/p>\n Asia-Pacific markets opened broadly higher Tuesday, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight. Japan’s Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0added over 1.41% while the Topix rose 0.88%. South Korea’s Kospi<\/a> advanced 1.17% at the open, while the small-cap Kosdaq slipped 0.88%. Australia’s benchmark S&P\/ASX 200<\/a> was flat. <\/p>\n Shares of AeroVironment<\/a> popped 19% in Monday’s after-hours session after the defense company reported fiscal fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.84 per share on revenue of $642 million. This beat the earnings of $1.46 per share and $559 million in revenue that analysts had been seeking, per LSEG.<\/p>\n Stocks rallied in Monday’s regular session, as a pause in hostilities<\/a> between the U.S. and Iran lifted sentiment. The S&P 500<\/a> rose 1.18%, while the Nasdaq Composite<\/a> gained 2.07%.<\/p>\n The Dow<\/a> jumped 306.63 points, or 0.59%, to close at a fresh record above the 52,000 level for the first time ever on Monday. The blue-chip index was boosted by a nearly 5% gain in Alphabet<\/a> during the “Magnificent Seven” giant’s first trading session as a Dow member.<\/p>\n “From our point of view, the sentiment is not terribly positive, and counterintuitively, that’s a good setup coming into earnings,” said Julian Emanuel<\/a>, senior managing director at Evercore ISI, on CNBC’s “Power Lunch<\/a>” on Monday.<\/p>\n “We actually think that the broadening is likely to occur into earnings season amongst large cap technology,” he continued. “Very often you see sort of a change of view, a change of positioning, particularly now at the start of the half year. We think the Mag Seven might be set up very favorably here. They have been left for dead.”<\/p>\n
