LONDON \u2014 Abivax on Monday night disclosed additional data for its experimental ulcerative colitis drug, seemingly allaying at least some of the safety concerns that had flared in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

U.S.-listed shares of the French firm were up some 25% overnight into Tuesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Abivax reported that the drug<\/a>, called obefazimod, delivered strong efficacy in a closely watched maintenance trial, with far more participants on the study drug entering a period of no symptoms of their bowel disease versus those on placebo. But a number of cancer cases among people on obefazimod raised questions about potential safety risks, with company shares plummeting in response.\u00a0<\/p>\n
