{"id":518111,"date":"2026-06-30T11:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/518111\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T11:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:48:10","slug":"danny-danon-challenges-un-with-terrorists-previously-thought-to-be-journalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/518111\/","title":{"rendered":"Danny Danon challenges UN with terrorists previously thought to be journalists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, presented the UN Security Council with several images of journalists and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-899656\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">UNRWA<\/a> employees killed by Israel who were later revealed to have been terrorists, in a challenge to Israeli&#8217;s critics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;Terrorist or journalist?&#8221; Danon asked the council members. &#8220;UNRWA employee or Nukhba commander?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;The United Nations continues to condemn Israel based on Hamas propaganda,&#8221; Danon stated. &#8220;The accusations come first, the truth comes later, but no one ever apologizes. It is time to stop blaming the country fighting terrorism and start putting pressure where it belongs: on Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Danon also condemned New York City Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-900882\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zohran Mamdani<\/a> for having previously referred to a terrorist killed by Israel as a journalist.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-900853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Committee to Protect Journalists<\/a> (CPJ) is conducting a full review of its database of journalists killed during the Israel-Hamas War after Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) published obituaries identifying as combatants individuals previously listed by CPJ as journalists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">CPJ has removed eight names from its \u201cKilled\u201d database because they were later established to have been members of Hamas or PIJ. A further 12 individuals were removed for other reasons.
