The official website and X\/Twitter account for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2<\/a> anime<\/a> announced on Tuesday the Japanese and English casts. The staff also confirmed that the first episode will premiere at this year’s Anime Expo<\/a> event on Friday at 7:30 p.m. PDT at the Crypto.com Arena.<\/p>\n

The anime will premiere<\/a> this fall.<\/p>\n

Kai Ikarashi<\/a> (who was a storyboard<\/a> artist, animation director, animator, and prop designer for the first series) is helming the new series in his directorial debut. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners<\/a> producer and writer Bartosz Sztybor<\/a> is again working on the series, and Ichigo Kanno<\/a> (animation director and key animator on the first series) is the lead character designer. Masahiko Otsuka<\/a> is returning as the scriptwriter. The new series will stream on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077\u2014 a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime<\/a> series by Studio Trigger<\/a> based on CD PROJEKT RED<\/a>‘s Cyberpunk 2077 game, debuted on Netflix in September 2022. The game is itself based on Mike Pondsmith<\/a>‘s Cyberpunk tabletop RPG game series.<\/p>\n

Aniplex of America<\/a> will release<\/a> the series on a complete Blu-ray Disc set in North America on October 28. Anime Limited<\/a> and Plaion Pictures<\/a> will release the series on home video in Europe, and Sugoi Co<\/a> will release the series on home video in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

A prequel<\/a> manga titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness<\/a> from artist Asano<\/a> (BNA: Brand New Animal<\/a> manga) and writer Bartosz Sztybor (CD PROJEKT RED) launched on the Comic Alive+<\/a> website in December 2024, and is getting a release in seven languages aside from Japanese. Dark Horse<\/a> is releasing the series in English in print.<\/p>\n
