Emmerdale spoilers<\/a> follow.<\/p>\n

It was a big celebration in Emmerdale<\/a> tonight (Tuesday, 30 June) as many of the villagers gathered for baby Leyla’s christening. However there were two characters who were noticeably absent from the ceremony \u2013 and its not the two you were thinking of.

At the church, Cain and Lydia were the sole Dingles to arrive, with Chas asking where the rest of the family where. Cain explained that Moira was at home looking after a sick Issac. <\/p>\n

Sam, who was also absent, was revealed to be fixing “a dodgy clay pigeon shooter,” but he later made it to the ceremony to join Lydia.<\/p>\n

But another person who didn’t make the ceremony was Aaron Dingle, who had been on holiday with Robert. While the couple have returned to the village, Aaron was immediately off on a scrap run. <\/p>\n

Of course fans know the real reason Aaron is absent, as actor Danny Miller has been filming<\/a> the new series of The Celebrity Apprentice for the past few weeks.<\/p>\n

Aaron’s absence meant the Robert was alone when he encountered his estranged husband Kev Townsend, who returned to the village last week. <\/p>\n

A stunned Robert immediately told his ex that he was now engaged to Aaron. But Kev responded by apologising to Robert for his past actions and even offering him a divorce.
<\/p>\n

Our Emmerdale insider previously said<\/a>: “What a relief for Robert. Divorcing Kev means that he can officially close that chapter in his life and, once finalised, Robert is free to marry Aaron, which he so desperately wants to do.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s also a good sign that Kev has moved on and doesn\u2019t have any plans to start harassing the pair of them again!”<\/p>\n

Robert also ran into his distant cousin, newcomer Serena, for the first time tonight. The pair had a chat together at the farm, with Robert inviting her to stay for a while so she could meet Aaron. <\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
