Tudum<\/a> that she departed Love is Blind because the emotional connections in the pods became too overwhelming for her, among other reasons.<\/p>\n\u201cI started seeing myself being pretty vulnerable, and it scared me a little bit because this is an intimate part of my brain. These are very sensitive topics for me,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt\u2019s not that I\u2019m just sharing it with whoever I\u2019m dating or the other women \u2014 this is going to be broadcast for people.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also began to question whether the experiment was truly worthwhile and worried about how her decisions might impact her family. Neither of her parents understood reality television or understood what was happening in the pods.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith my parents being immigrants and having a language barrier, I\u2019ve always naturally been their helper,\u201d she continued. \u201cWhen I told them, \u2018Hey, Mom and Dad, I\u2019m going on this show, they\u2019re going to take my phone, they were like, \u2018Are you being kidnapped?\u2019<\/p>\n
Even though Anna explained to them why she couldn’t be in contact during the initial phase of the experiment, she couldn’t shake the feeling that her parents were concerned about her well-being.<\/p>\n
The night she decided to leave, Anna said she broke down in tears and felt guilty for taking a spot that could have gone to someone who might have found their perfect match in the pods. \u201cI was a wreck,\u201d she admitted. \u201cMy eyes were almost swollen shut from crying. I was embarrassed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blake, a 34-year-old accountant, also came on the show to find love in Season 9. He was getting to know numerous women, including Anna. When production informed Blake that Anna had left, he said he wasn\u2019t upset, but somewhat concerned about her.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt that point in the experiment, Anna and I hadn\u2019t talked about a proposal or an engagement. It certainly felt like we weren\u2019t close to that,\u201d Blake told Netflix. \u201cWe certainly had a good bond and friendship. I don\u2019t want to speak for her, but I think she made the right decision for herself at the moment, and I\u2019m proud of her for doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ultimately, like Anna, Blake began to realize that the experiment was not going to work for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes I\u2019m practical to a fault, and as the days ticked on, I just realized that a proposal wasn\u2019t in the cards for me,\u201d he explained. Blake added that once he realized he had to leave, he felt that the right thing to do was to remove himself.<\/p>\n

Although Anna and Blake both left Love is Blind Season 9 early in the season, the singles \u2014 who were interested in one another in the pods \u2014 are not together today. Blake also clarified to Tudum that his decision to leave was not influenced by Anna at all.<\/p>\n
Before he left, Blake was also dating Megan. But telling her he was excited about the show wasn\u2019t even on his radar. In the moment, he said, \u201cI was almost exclusively concerned with where my head was at, my emotional state, and I really thought I was doing the right thing.\u201d He continued, \u201cSo I didn\u2019t play that out, which feels clumsy and foolish. If I could go back, I definitely would change that.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for Anna, producers did ask her if she wanted to go on a pod date to let Patrick know she was leaving the show, but she said she didn’t want to be on camera anymore. She still defends her decision today, knowing it was the best for her at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think I regret it because I don\u2019t think the connections were strong enough to have a successful marriage from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
