The staff for the anime<\/a> adaptation of Dr.Poro<\/a> and Nabana Naba<\/a>‘s The Vermillion Mask<\/a> (Shuiro no Kamen<\/a>) manga revealed the first main trailer<\/a> with English subtitles during Crunchyroll<\/a>‘s Anime Expo<\/a> panel on Friday. The staff also revealed the cast.<\/p>\n

The newly announced cast includes:\n<\/p>\n

The anime will debut in October 2026, and it will have two parts, also referred to as cours<\/a> (quarters of a year). Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs.<\/p>\n

Yomiuri TV<\/a> describes the anime:<\/p>\n

\tAt the center of the story is Peru, a young apprentice mask maker who loses control under the influence of a cursed mask, slaying both his master and comrades in a tragic outburst. Wracked with guilt, Peru sets off on a journey to destroy the legendary masks his master once crafted, crossing paths with unlikely allies and deadly foes. What unfolds is a gripping battle for redemption, as both the fate of Peru’s soul and the world itself hang in the balance.<\/p>\n

Tetsuaki Watanabe<\/a> (BLUELOCK<\/a> season 1) is directing the anime at 100Studio<\/a> (WOW Studio). Gai Hazako<\/a> is the assistant director. Daisuke \u014chigashi<\/a> (Fate\/strange Fake<\/a>) is in charge of series composition. Hisashi Higashijima<\/a> (Mashle: Magic and Muscles<\/a>) is drawing the character designs. Fumiyuki Go<\/a> is the sound director. Arisa Okehazama<\/a> (The Apothecary Diaries<\/a>) is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Dr.Poro and Naba launched<\/a> the manga in Sh\u014dnengah\u014dsha<\/a>‘s Young King Ours<\/a> magazine in February 2021. Sh\u014dnengah\u014dsha published the manga’s eighth compiled book volume in July 2025.<\/p>\n

Orange’s emaqi<\/a> e-bookstore platform publishes<\/a> the manga in English.<\/p>\n
