The Strokes<\/a> have released a new music video for \u201cGoing Shopping,\u201d<\/a> the lead single for their upcoming album,\u00a0Reality Awaits<\/a>. Watch it below.<\/p>\n

Paying homage to Paul Simon\u2019s \u201cYou Can Call Me Al\u201d video<\/a>, the visual stars Walton Goggins<\/a> (The White Lotus,\u00a0Fallout, The Righteous Gemstones) in the role originally played by Chevy Chase. Directed by longtime collaborator Johann Rashid, the clip was shot on the Spanish island of Tenerife, off the coast of Morocco.<\/p>\n

Like the \u201cYou Can Call Me Al\u201d video, the visual sees Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas sitting beside Goggins as the actor lip-syncs along with the lyrics, while occasionally getting up to dance. They are joined by dancing clowns while messages flash across the screen, such as, \u201cWorker on strike! (but alas, the news won\u2019t show it).\u201d<\/p>\n

This is a thinly veiled reference to the plight of Amazon warehouse workers. In the clip, a package is delivered by an actor\u00a0dressed like an Amazon delivery person, who returns with a sign that reads, \u201cOn Strike.\u201d Casablancas also wore a \u201cCrime\u201d T-shirt spoofing the Amazon Prime logo during the first weekend of the Strokes\u2019 return to Coachella<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n
