<\/p>\nLove Island has been hit with the highest number of Ofcom complaints in this new season as Movie Night sparked backlash over alleged “editorial bias” and “bullying” of some Islanders. Following the Casa Amor drama, viewers launched hundreds of complaints over the most recent episodes of season 13.<\/p>\n
According to broadcasting regulator Ofcom, ITV2’s reality TV series received 533 complaints between 2 and 6 July, making it the highest number since the new series began.<\/p>\n
The episode aired last Sunday (5 July) attracted the most reports over the “alleged editorial bias towards Jasmine [M\u00fcller]” and bullying of Priya Jaswal, with Jasmine being at the centre of the Movie Night segment.<\/p>\n

Her behaviour was dissected in films ‘The Affair’, about her connection with Lorenzo Alessi while she’s coupled up with Kavan Murphy, and ‘The Princess Jasmine Diaries’, in which her plan to convince Priya to couple up with Casa Amor boy Jordon Wilson so he could join the main villa was exposed.<\/p>\n Priya also received the support of viewers in the complains, as some felt she was treated unfairly during Movie Night.<\/p>\n The contestant was made to watch footage of her friend Mica Harris as she plotted to steal her then-partner, Samraj Toor. Priya was also unaware that Samraj had “got the ick” and discovered her villa bestie Mica had kept this information for herself.<\/p>\n 167 complaints were issued over the alleged bullying of Priya and Kavan by Mica and Jasmine during the Casa Amor recoupling episode aired on 2 July, as well as Julia Majchrzak’s use of offensive language.<\/p>\n During the episode, Priya chose to couple up with Jordon, unaware that he intended to pursue Jasmine in the villa. <\/p>\n ITV<\/p>\n Viewers were also taken aback when Julia was heard calling Jasmine a “b***h”.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, a further 94 viewers complained about “alleged controlling and abusive behaviour by Jasmine towards Kavan” during the episode aired on 6 July, and 75 complaints related to the alleged “bullying by Lola [Deal] towards Julia, as well as alleged controlling and abusive behaviour by Jasmine” in scenes aired on 3 July.<\/p>\n Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment.<\/p>\n This is not the first occasion in which Love Island has come under fire.
