Aussie musician Dom Dolla \u2013 real name Dominic Matheson \u2013 has appeared on a podcast for the first time, revealing his struggle with mental health.<\/p>\n

The world-renowned DJ<\/a>, 34, is known for avoiding press or interviews, sharing news of his sit-down chat with fellow DJ Tiga and music journalist Tia Ho in a post<\/a> shared with his 1.5 million Instagram followers. <\/p>\n

In his first ever podcast appearance, Aussie musician Dom Dolla revealed his battle with OCD.\u00a0YouTube\/Dom Dolla<\/p>\n

In the post, Matheson included a short clip from the chat, revealing his battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and prompting an outcry of support from fans in the comments section. <\/p>\n

In the full interview, shared to Matheson\u2019s YouTube page<\/a>, he and Tiga discussed their different creative styles and how their mental health affects the way they work, Tiga detailing his ADHD and Matheson revealing his OCD. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have OCD and I\u2019ve suffered with it for years. It\u2019s not like I\u2019m clean and tidy. It\u2019s like, it can be pretty debilitating,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I cannot handle doubt. And I think one of the reasons that I am such a perfectionist in the studio is because it\u2019s the \u2018what if\u2019 question of like … \u2018what if I don\u2019t give this record the best chance that it possibly can\u2019. You know, there are all sorts of crazy manifestations of OCD.\u201d<\/p>\n

While many associate OCD with cleanliness, according to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, it\u2019s actually a chronic mental health disorder that causes a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears, that lead to repetitive behaviours, getting in the way of daily activities and causing distress. <\/p>\n

Back on Instagram, Matheson commented on his own post, addressing his mental health struggle and offering support to others going through something similar. <\/p>\n

\u201cWas great to sit down and chat all things life and music with tiga and tia… in particular how mental health affects output and creativity,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was diagnosed with OCD about 12 years ago. It has many life altering manifestations, none of them pleasant (IYKYK). <\/p>\n

Dom Dolla has played sold out shows at Madison Square Garden, Ibiza residencies, major festivals including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and even set an all-time attendance record at Lollapalooza. He also recently took home the Global Impact Award at the 2025 ARIA Awards.\u00a0Matt Winkelmeyer<\/p>\n

Matheson is an Aussie export from Melbourne who has gone on to become one of the biggest names in electronic music<\/a> around the world, with 1.5 billion global streams. <\/p>\n

He recently made history as the first electronic act to headline a solo stadium show in Australia, playing to over 40,000 fans at Sydney\u2019s Allianz Stadium in December 2025. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s since announced his homecoming show at Melbourne\u2019s Marvel Stadium in September, marking his second Aussie stadium show. All 60,000 tickets have already sold out. <\/p>\n
