{"id":534114,"date":"2026-07-10T03:51:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T03:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/534114\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T03:51:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T03:51:07","slug":"man-under-investigation-for-secretly-recording-women-on-dates-with-ai-smart-glasses-in-south-korea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/534114\/","title":{"rendered":"Man under investigation for secretly recording women on dates with AI smart glasses in South Korea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SEOUL \u2013 A man in South Korea is under investigation for allegedly using AI smart glasses to secretly film women he dated and sharing the footage online, police said on July 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The Seoul Gangseo Police Station said the suspect, whose identity has been withheld, is accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/world\/meta-launches-cheaper-range-of-ai-smart-glasses-starting-at-390?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\">wearing Meta\u2019s AI glasses<\/a> while on separate dates with four women earlier in 2026, recording photos and videos without their consent and later uploading the footage to social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">One of the women found videos of herself and the other women on his social media account, and reported him to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The footage reportedly shows the women throughout their dates, from their first meetings at subway stations to having meals, drinking coffee and walking together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">When confronted by the women about the recordings, the suspect reportedly said he filmed them \u201cto preserve the memories\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-primary font-tertiary-body-baseline-regular\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Police are investigating whether the footage includes intimate images of the women and are reviewing whether additional charges under sex crime laws apply.
