I Must Be Dreaming, band\u2019s first album in 11 years, out Aug. 28<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Alabama Shakes<\/a> have shared their optimistic new single \u201cI Feel Hope Coming,\u201d the latest track off I Must Be Dreaming, the reunited band\u2019s first album in 11 years.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing previous singles \u201cAnother Life<\/a>\u201d and \u201cAmerican Dream<\/a>,\u201d \u201cI Feel Hope Coming\u201d is a call to protest. \u201cThis younger generation makes me feel hopeful because they can see through all the political lies \u2014 that song\u2019s about holding onto that hope, and refusing to give up,\u201d Brittany Howard said of the track in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHeath Fogg added, \u201cI\u2019m really happy that song exists. It came from such a joyful moment of collaboration, and exemplifies everything I love about this band being reborn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter nearly a decade of inactivity, Alabama Shakes \u2014 now Howard, guitarist Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell \u2014 staged\u00a0a surprise reunion gig<\/a>\u00a0in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in December 2024. That was followed by a 2025 tour and \u201cAnother Life,\u201d the band\u2019s first new song in over a decade.<\/p>\n

\n\tI Must Be Dreaming, due out Aug. 28 via Island Records, marks Alabama Shakes\u2019 first album since 2015\u2019s Sound & Color. \u201cThere\u2019s a double meaning to it,\u201d Howard said of the album title. \u201cIt could be saying, \u2018I must be dreaming, because the world is so fucking crazy right now.\u2019 But it could also mean, \u2018I must be dreaming, because the world is so incredibly beautiful.\u2019 Both those things can be true at once.\u201d<\/p>\n
