The Linda Lindas<\/a> have announced a new album,\u00a0Gotta Get Out, out on August 28th via Reprise\/Warner Records. They\u2019ve also shared the new single \u201cCloser\u201d featuring Hayley Williams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gotta Get Out\u00a0serves as The Linda Lindas\u2019 third studio album, following 2022\u2019s\u00a0Growing Up<\/a> and 2024\u2019s\u00a0No Obligation<\/a>. The quartet opted to write their new album together in the same room for the first time, resulting in a more intentional and expansive sound for their third album. It\u2019s also their first release since signing to Reprise Records<\/a> from their former label Epitaph earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Get The Linda Lindas Tickets<\/a><\/p>\n

Following last month\u2019s \u201cBurning Out,\u201d<\/a> The Linda Lindas have now offered a second preview of\u00a0Gotta Get Out, \u201cCloser\u201d (feat. Hayley Williams). With some heavier guitars and an angsty hue, the song definitely recalls Williams\u2019 work with Paramore, especially their\u00a0Riot!\u00a0and\u00a0Brand New Eyes eras. Williams takes the chorus, with some spiky group shouts of \u201cbreathing in and breaking down\u201d popping in and out of the fray; the song also features a particularly energizing bridge, where drummer Mila de la Garza shifts the rhythm from half time and vocalist Bela Salazar provides an anthemic lament.<\/p>\n

\u201cCloser\u201d is about feeling like you\u2019re losing control of time, and watching yourself grow older from afar,\u201d Salazar and Lucia de la Garza said in a statement. \u201cLately, we\u2019ve been realizing how important it is to stay present, especially when our lives feel constantly in motion. It feels perfect that Hayley Williams was down to collaborate on this song with us, because we\u2019ve been fans of her throughout so many of her different eras \u2014 and she\u2019s seen us grow up over the last ten years! The Linda Lindas have yet to announce a headlining tour in support of\u00a0Gotta Get Out, but they do have a handful of tour dates coming up this fall supporting Bleachers<\/a>. They\u2019ll also perform at Tom Morello\u2019s Power to the People festival<\/a> in Columbia, Maryland, joining a stacked lineup that also features Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Brittany Howard, and more.
