Kate Middleton, royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is in attendance for the Wimbledon women’s finals between Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková—and so is Meg Bellamy, the actress who played her on the final season of The Crown.

Bellamy landed the role of Kate through an open casting call for The Crown. “The Princess of Wales, or Kate Middleton as she was known then, was just such a contrast to the formality that was all around her,” creator Peter Morgan told T&C. “You couldn’t help but think what a great job she has done and how effortlessly she seems to have fit in.” Bellamy, Morgan added, “has some of those instantly likable, instantly relatable qualities.”

The Princess of Wales and Bellamy have seemingly never met, and it doesn’t look like an interaction could happen at Wimbledon today—Kate is seated in the Royal Box, while the actress is attending as a guest of Range Rover. It’s unclear if Kate’s ever seen The Crown; while Queen Camilla has admitted to watching the series (and even met Emerald Fennell, who played her in two seasons), as has Prince Harry, the Prince and Princess of Wales have never commented on the series.

Since The Crown, Bellamy has appeared in the short film Oh Boys and just wrapped filming on the TV show Up to No Good, which stars Glenn Close as elderly murderer Maud Oldcastle. Per the logline, “Determined to break from a lifetime spent caring for her sister, Maud sets out to claim a long-overdue second act, but a suspicious detective and an unrelenting world built for youth may soon discover just how far she’ll go to protect her freedom.” No details have been shared about Bellamy’s role.

Meanwhile, it’s rumored there’s a prequel to The Crown in the works at Netflix, which would begin with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901, and end when The Crown begins in season one: Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s 1947 wedding.
