Emmerdale has lined up a dangerous new future for Kerry Pollard as a result of her role in the counterfeit scheme instigated by Caleb Miligan<\/a>, with the fan-favourite character now having a “taste” of the criminal life.<\/p>\n

Kerry initially scammed Caleb with the help of Archie Breckle, though they were soon busted by Eric<\/a>. Jai soon caught the pair red-handed as well, but Kerry didn’t stop with the life of crime.<\/p>\n

With Caleb wanting to make a quick buck after losing some money, he began selling counterfeit goods out of the warehouse, with Billy Fletcher and Kerry soon helping him out in his grand plan.<\/p>\n

“No matter what the outcome, she’s had a taste for crime now,” teased Laura Norton, who plays Kerry. “She’s quite good at it and she knows how to impress somebody of Caleb’s stature. <\/p>\n

“She undermines him – she’s brash and lets her mouth go all the time. She says ridiculous things, and I think she has surprised him. He finds himself being quite amused by her at times, but then he reminds her to stay in her lane.”<\/p>\n

“I think the stakes are obviously very high, and if nothing was to go terribly wrong, I feel like she’d be looking for another opportunity pretty soon,” added the actor, who joined the ITV soap<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n

While Kerry is now working alongside Caleb, it wasn’t so long ago where he was the target of her schemes. Norton noted that it was an “emotional reaction” to perceived slights at work, and she’s now scrambling to make amends.<\/p>\n

“Kerry just cannot help herself,” she said. “She shoots from the hip and gets a kick from random things that she was never expecting. She thinks she might come into some money, be back under her boss’ wing again, and earn some kudos and respect.”<\/p>\n

While there could be danger for Kerry in the future, Norton shared that she very much enjoyed the storyline as a whole, with the actor singling out co-star William Ash – who plays Caleb – for praise.<\/p>\n

“We’ve said we need to find another opportunity for a story like this, because when you have two characters that you wouldn’t normally put together in the same world, it makes the scenes so much more interesting to watch,” she said.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
