Grant Thornton Channel Islands has announced a series of promotions across its tax, audit and advisory teams, including the appointment of Sergio Gouveia as Tax Senior Manager.<\/p>\n
Effective from 1 July 2026, Sergio Gouveia (pictured) has been promoted to Senior Manager in the firm\u2019s Tax team. He advises on offshore structures with exposure to UK tax, helping to ensure structures remain fit for purpose, supporting restructurings and assisting trustees with the orderly closure of trust structures. He is ATT qualified and is currently studying towards the CTA qualification.<\/p>\n
Commenting on Sergio\u2019s promotion, Neil Hoolahan, Tax Partner in Guernsey said: \u201cIt has been great to see Sergio\u2019s progress over time, and this promotion reflects the contribution he continues to make to the team and to our clients.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
The firm has also announced promotions within its Audit team, with Albert Donkor, Hamza Saeed and Shaira Albis all appointed as Audit Managers.<\/p>\n
Albert is a Chartered Accountant with more than five years\u2019 experience auditing financial services businesses, with a particular focus on private equity and alternative investment structures across Jersey, the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n
Hamza Saeed is an ACCA qualified audit professional with more than seven years\u2019 experience across financial services, private equity, real estate and banking, working with clients in Jersey, the UK, Ireland and the Middle East and North Africa region.<\/p>\n
Shaira Albis is a Certified Public Accountant (Philippines) with more than seven years\u2019 external audit experience, having led audits of listed and non-listed organisations across the funds, real estate, insurance and service sectors.<\/p>\n
Outside the audit team, Fiona Ashworth has been promoted to Payroll Advisory Manager. She brings more than 25 years\u2019 experience across a range of sectors, specialising in payroll management, bookkeeping, management accounts, financial reporting, group consolidation and systems implementation.<\/p>\n
