The foreign ministry of the Sana\u2019a-based Yemeni government has bluntly warned Saudi Arabia against the adverse consequences of any act of aggression against the Arab nation.<\/p>\n
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in a strongly-worded statement released late on Sunday, emphasized that regional political and military equations have altered, and any attempt by Saudi Arabia to re-impose a siege on Yemen or target its critical installations will be met with a crushing response.<\/p>\n
\u201cSaudi Arabia must bear full responsibility in case such a scenario breaks out. The Riyadh regime must realize that the years of blockade against Yemen have irreversibly ended, and that attempts to impose new economic and geographical bans are no longer effective and will be met with fierce resistance from the Yemeni nation,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
The ministry further cautioned against any move that targets air traffic in Yemen, declaring that the Saudi regime must be held accountable for any folly which either it or its mercenaries commit and intensify the siege on Sana\u2019a International Airport.<\/p>\n
\u201cRiyadh\u2019s continued bids to evade its direct responsibility through sell-out mercenaries have failed. The Saudi regime\u2019s efforts to shift responsibility onto its mercenaries have been exposed, and the international community and the Yemeni people are now fully aware of the party escalating the status quo,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
The Yemeni foreign ministry underscored that any misstep by Saudi Arabia will constitute the breaking point of d\u00e9tente and ceasefire, jeopardize regional and international mediation efforts, and open the door to all available options that Yemen would take in self-defense.<\/p>\n
On March 26, 2015, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies initiated a blockade on Yemen, marking the beginning of a comprehensive war, backed with military, political, and logistical assistance from the United States and other Western countries.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0war has\u00a0led to the deaths of\u00a0tens of thousands of\u00a0people in Yemen, while\u00a0failing to achieve\u00a0its\u00a0primary goal\u00a0of\u00a0reinstating the previous government that was aligned with\u00a0Riyadh.<\/p>\n
Amid\u00a0a power struggle,\u00a0the government fled the country,\u00a0leading\u00a0Yemen\u2019s popular resistance movement,\u00a0Ansarullah,\u00a0to\u00a0take charge of\u00a0state\u00a0affairs.<\/p>\n
After\u00a0a\u00a0delicate\u00a0ceasefire\u00a0brokered by the UN\u00a0in 2022,\u00a0multiple rounds of significant attacks were launched against Yemen by\u00a0the United States, Britain, and the Israeli regime.<\/p>\n
