This year\u2019s season of MasterChef Australia may be quickly approaching its end<\/a>, but there\u2019s still one massive surprise in store for the remaining contestants: Meghan Markle\u2018s stint as a celebrity guest judge.\n<\/p>\n

Network 10 announced back in April that the Duchess of Sussex <\/a>would be stopping by the iconic MasterChef kitchen to help our judges<\/a>, Poh Ling Yeow<\/a>, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli, mentor our new batch of top home cooks.<\/p>\n

And if you\u2019re wondering where Andy Allen is, don\u2019t fret. The fan-favourite was on maternity leave alongside his wife, Alexandra Allen, towards the end of filming.<\/p>\n

The Duchess\u2019 reality TV cameo was a part of her first Australian visit since 2018, and considering her recent projects <\/a>\u2014 such as her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan<\/a> and her line of food products, As Ever By Meghan, Duchess of Sussex \u2014 it makes sense as to why she would jump into the MasterChef Australia universe.<\/p>\n

When does Meghan Markle\u2019s episode of MasterChef Australia air?<\/p>\n

Meghan\u2019s set to appear as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia on Sunday, July 26, at 7pm.<\/p>\n

Channel 10 released a statement teasing that she will be setting a challenge for the remaining contestants to \u201ccreate dishes that celebrate seasonal ingredients and the personal stories behind them\u201d. The ingredient options are: carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, celeriac, local Australian honey, macadamia nuts, quince, lemons, apples, mandarins and strawberries. <\/p>\n

\u201cThese are all things that, for me, feel really nostalgic\u201d, Meghan\u00a0explained in a teaser. \u201cI\u2019d love it if there\u2019s a connection that you can find when, as you\u2019re cooking something, what is the story behind it? What is something from your family or from a memory\u2026 something sentimental that we can also taste as we taste your dish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mother-of-two added that it was \u201can easy yes\u201d appearing on MasterChef Australia because of two things: her love of food and her love of Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s such a great show. I\u2019m just really honoured that I was asked to be able to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time a royal has stopped by <\/a>the MasterChef Australia kitchen. In 2018, for the show\u2019s 10th season, then-Prince Charles made a surprise cameo. However, he refused to eat anything. <\/p>\n

Alongside Meghan, Aussie royalty Robert Irwin and Jimmy Barnes have both made appearances on this year\u2019s season of MasterChef Australia.<\/p>\n
