Attendance at the event is free to all Comic-Con members, but you will need to bring your convention badge to be admitted, and your I.D. if you wish to purchase booze, even if you look like Methuselah. And there will be quite a lot of us looking like that. Advance seating for VIPs, nominees, sponsors, and presenters will begin at 7pm. No-host bars will be set up both in the ballroom and the ballroom lobby. The ceremony is expected to run until about 10:30pm. It will be followed by a VIP reception in the Indigo Ballroom foyer.<\/p>\n<p>Named for the pioneering comics creator and graphic novelist Will Eisner, the Eisner Awards, considered the &#8220;Oscars&#8221; of the comic book industry, will be given out in 32 categories for works published in 2025. All attendees will also get a program listing the nominees.<\/p>\n<p>Hosting the ceremony this year are voice actor Phil LaMarr and actor\/writer\/director Thomas Lennon. Among presenters are actors Doug Jones and Ivana Baquero; voice actors Jim Cummings and Candi Milo; actors Sung Kang and Tamara Braun ; comics writers\/screenwriters AJ Lee and Aimee Garcia; Felicia Day, Jeff Lewis, and Vincent Caso of The Guild; Iron Maiden&#8217;s Bruce Dickinson; actor\/comics writer David Dastmalchian; Hypefriend podcasters Ashley Eckstein and Michael James Scott; actor\/director\/writer Thomas Jane; CBLDF director Jeff Trexler; and British comic book artist Mark Buckingham.<\/p>\n<p>The major sponsor of the 2026 Eisner Awards is Lunar Distribution. Trophies will be presented for 19 judges&#8217; choices, inductees, and four inductees chosen by voters. Since 1984, Comic-Con has been bestowing the annual Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award (to be presented by Bob&#8217;s daughter Ruth). This year&#8217;s recipients are Richard and Wendy Pini. The nominees and winner of the Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award, which has been presented since 1982, will be announced by Bill Stout, a former Russ Manning assistant. Also being presented is the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailing Award, presided over by Joe Ferrara.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 22nd year for the presentation of the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing. The 2026 recipients are Jenny Blake Isabella, and Martin Pasko. The Finger Awards will be presented by Mark Evanier and Bill Finger&#8217;s granddaughter Athena Finger. The major sponsors for the Finger Award are DC Comics and Marvel Comics.
