You can watch it live <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/launches\/sda-t1tl-e\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/launches\/sda-t1tl-e\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">via SpaceX<\/a> beginning about 10 minutes before launch.<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-af74eeee-7f95-11f1-a645-7318b4a9c15e\">SpaceX&#8217;s <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starship-super-heavy.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starship-super-heavy.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starship-super-heavy.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Starship<\/a> megarocket \u2014 the biggest and most powerful launch vehicle ever built \u2014 is slated to make its <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/how-to-watch-spacex-launch-starship-flight-13-on-july-16\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/how-to-watch-spacex-launch-starship-flight-13-on-july-16\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/how-to-watch-spacex-launch-starship-flight-13-on-july-16\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">13th test flight<\/a> shortly thereafter. It will lift off from the company&#8217;s Starbase site in South Texas during a 90-minute window that opens at 6:45 p.m. EDT (2245 GMT; 5:45 p.m. local Texas time).<\/p>\n<p>SpaceX will stream that mission live as well, and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/WXHd014xLjQ\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/WXHd014xLjQ\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Space.com will carry the feed<\/a>. Coverage will begin about half an hour before launch.<\/p>\n<p>            You may like<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-af74ef52-7f95-11f1-b0cf-2163923b5fe4\">Today&#8217;s Falcon 9 flight will help assemble the T1TL, a network in <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">low Earth orbit<\/a> (LEO) that will be operated by the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/us-space-force-history-mission-capabilities\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/us-space-force-history-mission-capabilities\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/us-space-force-history-mission-capabilities\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. Space Force<\/a>&#8216;s Space Development Agency (SDA).<\/p>\n<p>The T1TL &#8220;will provide global communications access and deliver persistent regional encrypted connectivity in support of warfighter missions around the globe,&#8221; SDA officials <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sda.mil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Transport-Layer_distro-A_FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.sda.mil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Transport-Layer_distro-A_FINAL.pdf\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">wrote in a explainer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/media\/img\/spc-logo-w.svg\" alt=\"Space\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-auto h-7 block w-auto mx-auto mb-4 h-[30px]\" data-component-name=\"Image\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The T1TL will eventually consist of 126 satellites, which will be built by York Space Systems, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. Forty-two of the spacecraft have reached orbit to date, on two Falcon 9 launches from Vandenberg \u2014 one <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-launches-1st-21-satellites-for-advanced-new-us-military-constellation\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-launches-1st-21-satellites-for-advanced-new-us-military-constellation\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-launches-1st-21-satellites-for-advanced-new-us-military-constellation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last September<\/a> and another <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-second-launch-space-development-agency-tranche-1-transport-layer\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-second-launch-space-development-agency-tranche-1-transport-layer\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-second-launch-space-development-agency-tranche-1-transport-layer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last October<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These 126 spacecraft will be part of a larger LEO network that the SDA calls the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.<\/p>\n<p>The PWSA is &#8220;a proliferated constellation of hundreds of optically linked small satellites, in low-Earth orbit (LEO), delivering capability at speed to the warfighter,&#8221; SDA officials wrote in a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sda.mil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Tranche-1-Factsheet_FINAL_06.10.2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.sda.mil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Tranche-1-Factsheet_FINAL_06.10.2024.pdf\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tranche 1 fact sheet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;SDA leverages spiral development to deploy and proliferate new capability into a new generation of the PWSA every two years, called a &#8216;tranche,&#8217; to continually increase capability used by the warfighter,&#8221; they added.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Booster 1103 launches<\/p>\n<p class=\"fancy-box__body-text\"><a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-spy-satellite-launch-nrol-179-nro\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-spy-satellite-launch-nrol-179-nro\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-spy-satellite-launch-nrol-179-nro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NROL-179<\/a> | 2 Starlink missions<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-af74f024-7f95-11f1-9d40-2f40649561c3\">If everything goes according to plan today, the Falcon 9&#8217;s first stage will come back to Earth about 8.5 minutes after liftoff for a landing in the Pacific Ocean, on the drone ship &#8220;Of Course I Still Love You.&#8221; According to a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/launches\/sda-t1tl-e\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/launches\/sda-t1tl-e\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">SpaceX mission description<\/a>, it will be the fourth flight for this particular booster, which is designated 1103.<\/p>\n<p>The Falcon 9&#8217;s upper stage will haul the 21 satellites to LEO.
