The Critics Choice Awards revealed its nominees for this year’s sixth annual event on Wednesday. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle<\/a> – Akaza Sairai, the first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy<\/a>, and the live-action film<\/a> of KOTAKE CREATE<\/a>‘s infinite-loop horror game Exit 8 (8-Ban Deguchi<\/a>) received nominations for “Best Superhero Movie.”<\/p>\n

Kazunari Ninomiya<\/a>, the star of Exit 8, was nominated for “Best Actor in a Superhero Movie.”<\/p>\n

The winners will be announced on August 6.<\/p>\n

Crunchyroll<\/a> will begin streaming<\/a> the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I film on July 28 worldwide outside of Japan and Mainland China. The film will also be able to purchase digitally on July 28 on services such as Apple TV<\/a>, Prime Video, Google Play<\/a>, YouTube<\/a>, and Fandango<\/p>\n

The film opened in Japan on July 18, 2025, and\u00a0ended<\/a> its run in Japanese theaters on April 9 after screening for 266 days. The film sold a cumulative total of 27,455,968 million tickets to earn 40,200,019,000 yen (about US$252.5 million) in Japan.<\/p>\n

Worldwide, the film has sold 98,520,310 tickets, and earned 117,917,539,329 yen (about US$740.5 million).<\/p>\n

September 15, 2025, its 60th day in the Japanese box office. This made it the second highest-earning film of all time at the Japanese box office, surpassing<\/a> Hayao Miyazaki<\/a> and Studio Ghibli<\/a>‘s 2001 film Spirited Away<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the game, a player is trapped at a subway train station, in an underground passageway that goes in an endless loop. To escape to “Exit 8,” the player must keep walking while looking carefully for any anomaly that foreshadows danger.<\/p>\n
