AC\/DC<\/a> singer Brian Johnson<\/a> said he was having much more fun as an older musician than he\u2019d had in the past.<\/p>\n

His comments appear to be at odds with those of Mick Jagger<\/a>, who recently said there was nothing good about ageing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Perhaps four years is all it takes to make the difference \u2013 Johnson is 78 while his Rolling Stones<\/a> counterpart is 82. In any case, Johnson recently told USA Today that hitting the stage was more enjoyable now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s still the unknown,\u201d he said in the video interview<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re all rehearsed; you know all your parts and your bits and piece. But [the unpredictability] still keeps you on edge, you know, to be your best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guitarist Angus Young<\/a>, 71, interjected: \u201cI just worry about if I\u2019m going to trip over\u2026 That\u2019s about it!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, just stupid things like that,\u201d Johnson agreed, adding that the band had learned how to make more of their stage presence. \u201cYou can\u2019t just immediately do things. You have to learn to watch the person. We\u2019re doing things now that we didn\u2019t think of doing before. Interacting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just more fun, because you don\u2019t care any more. When you\u2019re young you take yourself very seriously \u2013 you know [we\u2019re] a big rock\u2019n\u2019roll band. I never used to smile or anything because that\u2019s what you thought you were supposed to [do]!\u201d<\/p>\n

Will AC\/DC Continue After 2026?<\/p>\n

AC\/DC launched the North American leg of their Power Up Tour<\/a> on July 11, delivering a 21-song set, after suggesting via social media that the current run of shows will be the last of the road trip that began in May 2024. The final performance takes place on Sept. 29 in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Neither Johnson or Young commented on the band\u2019s future in the interview<\/a>, but when asked what they\u2019d like people to say about their legacy, the guitarist replied: \u201c\u2018A great rock band.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018They were great at what they did. And they did it consistently,\u2019\u201d Johnson added. \u201cYou never thought back in the day \u2013\u2013 when I finish here I\u2019m going to be 79!\u201d He said of the band\u2019s multi-generational fanbase: \u201cI\u2019d love to thank them all one by one.\u201d<\/p>\n
