{"id":547337,"date":"2026-07-18T08:01:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T08:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/547337\/"},"modified":"2026-07-18T08:01:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T08:01:10","slug":"gaza-health-officials-say-israeli-airstrike-kills-eight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/547337\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaza Health Officials Say Israeli Airstrike Kills Eight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaza\u2019s civil defense agency and a hospital said an Israeli airstrike on Friday killed eight people near a market, while the military reported it had struck a \u201cterrorist cell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/10\/24\/hamas-fatah-gaza-ceasefire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ceasefire<\/a> remains in place between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, but it has not halted violence in Gaza, and efforts to secure a lasting agreement to end the war have stalled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEight people were killed after Israeli warplanes struck a gathering of civilians in the Al-Balata market area of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza,\u201d the civil defense agency, which operates as a rescue service under Hamas, reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The area\u2019s Al-Awda hospital said it received the eight dead and 22 people wounded in the strike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for the civil defense agency, told AFP the strike occurred during a funeral procession.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military confirmed carrying out the strike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA short while ago, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck a terrorist cell of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the central Gaza Strip,\u201d the military said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe IDF is aware of the claims that several uninvolved individuals were harmed as a result of the strike.
