\n Hundreds \u200bof newborns in Peru have been named for rising stars such as Norway\u2019s Erling Haaland, while names inspired by legacy icons like Lionel Messi, Brazil\u2019s Neymar and Portugal\u2019s Cristiano Ronaldo each count around 30,000 registrations, \u2060Ivan Torres, a spokesperson for Peru\u2019s civil registry RENIEC told Panamericana TV last week.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cHaaland is now Peruvian too,\u201d Torres said, noting one newborn was simply named \u201cMundial\u201d after the Spanish shorthand for the World Cup. Peru did not \u2060qualify for the tournament.\n <\/p>\n

\n Ysisidra is a play on \u201cY si s\u00ed?\u201d, or \u201cWhat if?\u201d, the upbeat mantra \u200bchanted by Mexican fans until they were knocked out by England in the last 16.\n <\/p>\n
\n Mexico\u2019s governance secretariat did \u200bnot immediately \u200cverify the authenticity of \u200bthe certificate.\n <\/p>\n
\n In Argentina, Enzo, Emiliano and Lionel topped the list of most popular boy names in the northeastern province of Salta the week before the final, according to local authorities who attributed the trend \u2060to the \u201cWorld Cup phenomenon.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Argentina\u2019s World Cup team, who will play in \u200bSunday\u2019s final, include midfielder Enzo Fernandez and goalkeeper Emiliano \u201cDibu\u201d Martinez, as well as team captain Messi.\n <\/p>\n
