Tomahawk<\/a> played their first show in 13 years as they kicked off a US tour<\/a> with the Melvins<\/a> on Saturday at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville.<\/p>\n

The Mike Patton-led supergroup \u2014 which also features Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), John Stanier (Helmet), and Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle) \u2014 played an 18-song set.<\/p>\n

With the band having never toured in support of their most recent album, Tonic Immobility, due to the pandemic and Patton\u2019s mental health struggles, the show featured six live debuts from the 2021 LP.<\/p>\n

The rest of the set was culled from three of Tomahawk\u2019s previous albums, including their 2001 self-titled debut, 2003\u2019s Mit Gas, and 2013\u2019s Oddfellows, plus a cover of Duane Eddy\u2019s \u201cStalkin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Melvins\u2019 played a 12-song set, included a cover of The Rolling Stones\u2019 \u201cSway.\u201d They were joined on the set-closer \u201cNight Goat\u201d by Tomahawk\u2019s Dunn, who is bandmates with Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne in the group Fant\u00f4mas.<\/p>\n

The tour runs through an August 15th show in Los Angeles. Along the way, it will hit such cities as Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco, among others, with tickets available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prior to the tour, Melvins\u2019 Osborne and Tomahawk\u2019s Denison connected over Zoom for Consequence\u2018s \u201cTwo for the Road\u201d series<\/a>. The pair discussed the tour, the bands\u2019 history together, their influence on other music acts, and more.<\/p>\n
