Rick Ross is known for hustling and his big boss persona. And now he\u2019s dreaming big with his brand new studio album. Deco sat down with the hip hop icon at the 99Jamz studios in Hollywood to talk about his new music and how a monument of the rapper can\u2019t be far behind.<\/p>\n
The BOAT, AKA biggest of all time, just dropped his heaviest album yet, \u201cSet In Stone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rick Ross: \u201cNineteen songs, yes, this is a powerful, packed body of work. I\u2019m excited about it, Miami 305 is most definitely represented. 99Jamz\u2019s own DJ Nasty is on the record.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDo It One Time\u201d features DJ Nasty and Young Breed to represent the Magic City.<\/p>\n
So, any pointers on what a real \u201cset in stone\u201d Ross should look like?<\/p>\n
DJ Nasty: \u201cFirst of all, the statue gotta be in stone, number one. It\u2019s gotta be in stone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rick Ross: \u201cGenius idea, genius.\u201d<\/p>\n
DJ Nasty: \u201cAm I? Gotta be in stone. It\u2019ll probably look just like that, you know, just hands like\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
Rick Ross: \u201cYou\u2019re a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n
The boss knows where he would put it too.<\/p>\n
Rick Ross: \u201cI would want it in the intersection of 183rd Street and 27th Avenue. I could see it right now, it could be easily from 40-to-60 feet, I can see it, it\u2019ll be in a nice oval, everyone would have to go around it, you know, in Miami Gardens. It\u2019ll be so \u2013 it\u2019s a genius idea, I can help with the financing, let\u2019s do it guys. It\u2019ll inspire the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking of inspiration, the idea of \u201cMinks In Miami\u201d came while on FaceTime with rapper French Montana.<\/p>\n
Rick Ross: \u201cHim and Max B was in the studio with the biggest coats ever. I\u2019m in the swimming pool, I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, we hot down here. This is the Miami sunshine, you know what I\u2019m saying, but guess what, Imma title the record we do together \u2018Minks In Miami.\u201d \u2018Minx In Miami,\u2019 number one on the record, which is huge for Rozay, I hadn\u2019t had one of those in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the 99Jamz listener event, fans showed up to celebrate the legend.<\/p>\n
