In a post on X, the social media platform he owns, Musk shared a video generated with the Grok Imagine AI tool and said the platform would create a full-length \u201cOdyssey\u201d film by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Musk said the project would be \u201chistorically accurate and true to the art of Homer,\u201d though Homer\u2019s poem is rooted in Greek mythology rather than documented history. He provided no additional details about the production, including its budget, cast, release platform or creative team.<\/p>\n

In a separate post, Musk endorsed a suggestion from an X user that director Mel Gibson be given a $100 million budget to make an adaptation featuring historically accurate ships, armor, weapons and casting. The proposal also called for all dialogue to be drawn directly from the original poem and spoken in Homeric Greek.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s announcement follows repeated criticism of Nolan\u2019s adaptation, particularly over casting choices that Musk and other conservative commentators have portrayed as examples of Hollywood\u2019s progressive politics.<\/p>\n

In January, Musk said Nolan had \u201clost his integrity\u201d in response to a post criticizing the casting of Lupita Nyong\u2019o as Helen of Troy.<\/p>\n

Musk also responded \u201ctrue\u201d to conservative commentator Matt Walsh\u2019s claim that Nyong\u2019o had been cast to shield the production from accusations of racism.<\/p>\n

He later praised a post mocking transgender actor Elliot Page, who had been rumored at the time to be playing Achilles. Page instead appears in the film as Sinon, a Greek soldier associated in classical mythology with the Trojan Horse deception.<\/p>\n

Despite criticism from Musk and other figures on the American right, Nolan\u2019s \u201cOdyssey\u201d has been a major commercial success, earning $264 million worldwide in its opening weekend, according to the report.<\/p>\n
