It\u2019s Damian Lewis\u2019 Song of the Week time again\u2014and this one feels particularly special because we\u2019re not exploring just one song, but two different incarnations of it.<\/p>\n

Damian\u2019s second album, Sweet Chaos, was released on June 5, and it includes \u201cFix Me Up,\u201d a new arrangement of \u201cSuck My Blood,\u201d which was originally released on The Radleys soundtrack.<\/p>\n

But \u201cFix Me Up\u201d is more than a renamed version of the same track.<\/p>\n

The original was a solo recording created in the vampiric world of The Radleys. The new arrangement is a wonderfully seductive duet between Damian and Alison\u2014and some significant changes to the lyrics appear to have transformed the meaning of the song along with its sound.<\/p>\n

So today, we\u2019re sinking our teeth into the original \u201cSuck My Blood,\u201d before exploring how it was reworked into \u201cFix Me Up\u201d\u2014a song that may no longer be about vampires at all.<\/p>\n

Damian first introduced \u201cSuck My Blood\u201d on Instagram just in time for Halloween in 2023. During the second leg of his Mission Creep UK tour in spring 2024, he brought it to the stage for the first time.<\/p>\n

Before performing it, Damian told us about The Radleys, the vampire film he had recently completed. In the film, he plays twin brothers Peter and Will Radley.<\/p>\n

And in Stroud, Damian absolutely brought the house down when he spotted a man in the front row getting up\u2014presumably to go to the bar or the restroom\u2014and deadpanned:<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, I\u2019m not a real vampire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Classic Damian. Perfect timing. People couldn\u2019t stop laughing.<\/p>\n
