Arsenal confirm Saliba injury absence<\/p>\n
Arsenal<\/a> have confirmed that William Saliba<\/a> will be out of action for an “extended period” after suffering a back injury while playing for France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n Saliba had been one of the tournament\u2019s standout defenders until being forced off half an hour into France\u2019s semi-final defeat against Spain.<\/p>\n \u201cSubsequent specialist reviews on William\u2019s return to London this week have confirmed that he has suffered a back injury which will require a period of rehabilitation\u201d, Arsenal\u2019s statement reads<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWilliam\u2019s rehabilitation will commence immediately, with continual management of his injury, and he is expected to be out of action for an extended period.\u201d<\/p>\n Arsenal won the Premier League last season for the first time since 2003\/04, with Saliba starting 30 of their 38 league games and present for 15 of their 19 clean sheets.
