Right now, Everett has a few projects in various stages of completion, including <a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2493756\/judd-apatow-is-making-a-documentary-about-e-from-eels\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a Judd Apatow-produced documentary<\/a> and an upcoming album called Cookie Happened. We&#8217;ve already heard lead single &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2502436\/eels-announce-new-album-cookie-happened-hear-cap-in-hand\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Cap In Hand,<\/a>&#8221; and today Everett shares two more songs. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All Forgotten,&#8221; the first of the new Eels tracks, is a soft, hazy meditation about contemplating an inevitable future where nobody has any idea that you ever existed. Everett says, &#8220;You can find the idea of your existence ending troubling or comforting. I try to lean towards the comforting take whenever possible: For thousands, millions of years you didn\u2019t exist, and you and the world were fine. You\u2019ll be fine not existing again. This is what hit songs are written about, right?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m On Standby,&#8221; the second, is a delicate little chug, which means it&#8217;s up-tempo compared to &#8220;All Forgotten.&#8221; This one is about the power of close friendship, which really is sunny. Everett says, &#8220;If you\u2019re lucky, you have a friend you\u2019re always there for and vice versa.
