Ohtani experienced soreness after his previous session on Wednesday, and the Dodgers decided to \u200bbe cautious and held him out three days \u200clater.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are \u200cnot going to move forward until \u200bhe feels 100% confident, and we feel 100% confident that we should do it,\u201d Los Angeles manager Dave \u2060Roberts told reporters before a game against the New York Mets. \u201cHe just \u2060doesn\u2019t feel 100%. I think the last \u2019pen that he had, there was a little bit \u200bof regression. We want to \u2060make sure that doesn\u2019t happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ohtani, 32, withdrew from the recent All-Star Game \u2060due to \u200bongoing discomfort and received treatment during the \u200bbreak.<\/p>\n
Ohtani has stated that the knee isn\u2019t bothered \u200bby \u200chitting, and Roberts reiterated that on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom his words, the hitting, the running, as he has done the last couple of nights, doesn\u2019t affect him,\u201d Roberts \u200csaid. \u201cSo, I can only go by what him and the training staff are telling me. Unless I hear otherwise, that hitting compromises his health, then I\u2019m going to keep putting \u200bhim \u200bout there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ohtani last pitched for the Dodgers \u200bon July 3, giving up three runs in \u2060six innings in a no-decision against the San Diego Padres.<\/p>\n
