Ishida, Fukuen join anime’s cast as Reiya Kiry\u016bin’s parents<\/p>\n

The staff for the television anime<\/a> of Kureha<\/a>‘s The Ogre’s Bride<\/a> (Oni no Hanayome<\/a>) light novel series revealed on Sunday that Akira Ishida<\/a> and Misato Fukuen<\/a> have been added in the anime’s cast. The new cast members’ characters appeared in the anime’s fourth episode on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The anime premiered<\/a> in Japan on the Tokyo MX<\/a>, BS11<\/a>, Gunma TV<\/a>, and Tochigi TV<\/a> channels, as well as on the d Anime Store<\/a>, ABEMA<\/a>, U-NEXT<\/a>, and Anime H\u014ddai<\/a> streaming services, on July 4 at 24:30 (effectively, July 5 at 12:30 a.m.) It then played on nine more channels throughout Japan and other streaming platforms. Crunchyroll<\/a> streams<\/a> the anime as it airs.<\/p>\n

The novel series is set in a Japan where humans and demons co-exist peacefully. Yuzu is an ordinary high school girl, who lives in the shadow of her older sister who is the bride of a demon. One day, she has a life-changing encounter with a beautiful ogre who claims her as his bride.<\/p>\n

The cast includes:\n<\/p>\n

Kazuhito \u014cmiya<\/a>\u00a0is directing the anime at\u00a0Colored Pencil Animation Japan<\/a>.\u00a0Yumi Kamakura<\/a>\u00a0is in charge of the series scripts.\u00a0Hikari Tanaka<\/a>\u00a0is drawing the main character designs, and\u00a0Hiroko Shigekuni<\/a>\u00a0is also credited for character designs.\u00a0Masaru Yokoyama<\/a>\u00a0is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Additional staff members include:\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

The\u00a0ClariS<\/a>\u00a0trio are performing the anime’s opening theme song “Hitokoto” (A Word).\u00a0Actor and singer Ikusabur\u014d Yamazaki is performing the ending theme song “Shinboshi.”<\/p>\n

Kureha began the light novel series on Starts Publishing<\/a>‘s Novema! platform in 2019. The series won the grand prize at the First Novema! Character Short Story Contest. Starts published the 10th volume in December 2025. Y\u016b Shiroya<\/a> illustrates the series.<\/p>\n

Jun Togashi<\/a> launched the manga adaptation in Starts Publishing’s Noicomi magazine in December 2021. The manga adaptation won Noicomi’s annual comic ranking in the girl comics category in 2022 and 2023. Starts shipped the 10th compiled book volume on July 10. MangaPlaza<\/a> is releasing the manga in English.<\/p>\n

The light novel series and its manga adaptation collectively have over 5.8 million copies in circulation.<\/p>\n

The novel series also\u00a0inspired<\/a>\u00a0a live-action film that opened on March 27. The film sold 146,000 tickets for 202,395,960 yen (about US$1.27 million) in its opening three days.<\/p>\n
