Boy George has just released what may well be the most pro-Israel<\/a>, pro-Jewish song ever by a mainstream recording artist, \u201cWe Will Dance Again,\u201d which he posted on his social media accounts, with the hashtag \u201cShalom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The phrase, \u201cWe Will Dance Again,\u201d has become a motto that symbolizes renewal and recovery following the October 7<\/a>, 2023 Hamas massacre that left over 1,200 murdered, about 364 of them concertgoers at the Nova Music Festival<\/a>, where the dancing was interrupted by rockets and then murder.<\/p>\n

Around 40 were kidnapped that day from the festival, some of whom were killed in captivity, while others were held in Gaza for over two years.<\/p>\n

The Instagram account of the 80s pop icon, best known as the frontman of the group Culture Club, has the Hebrew words for \u201cWe Will Dance Again\u201d written alongside the English.<\/p>\n

The song features a reggae beat similar to the style of some of Culture Club\u2019s songs, and launches right into the song\u2019s message, addressing the inflammatory language that has been used to attack Jews and Israelis for nearly three years: \u201cYou say genocide, I say war\/When you\u2019re attacked, it\u2019s what the army is for\/Does it get ugly?\/You bet it does\/When you want to kill every last one of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The chorus of the song makes crystal clear sentiments that Boy George has expressed before in interviews and on social media: \u201cBut trust me, we will dance again, and there will be no war\u2026 But if you\u2019re ever confused, I stand with the Jews\/I don\u2019t feel brave, I just need to behave like a human.\u201d<\/p>\n

Early on in the song, he revisits the horrors of the massacre, saying, \u201cYou never mention October 7\/Young girls raped against trees\/Murdered brutally for the crime of dancing.\u201d He also attacks those in the music world who condemn Israel but never Hamas, saying, \u201cYou condemn the Jews with selective memory\/Musicians holding flags mouthing like sheep\/Propaganda fueled by the internet\/Feels so weak.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time that Boy George<\/a> demonstrated his affinity for Israel and the Jewish people. In the video for the Culture Club song \u201cDo You Really Want to Hurt Me?\u201d he wore a shirt that read \u201cTarbut Aguda\u201d in Hebrew letters, which translates roughly to \u201cculture association.\u201d Many Israelis loved seeing Hebrew in a popular music video and embraced the song, the singer, and the band.<\/p>\n

Boy George, whose real name is George Alan O\u2019Dowd, has performed in Israel several times, both as a solo artist and with Culture Club. In 2024, he was among over 400 artists and celebrities who signed an open letter in support of Israel\u2019s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n

In 2020, he collaborated with Israeli musician Asaf Goren on the song \u201cRainbow in the Dark,\u201d which has English and Hebrew lyrics.<\/p>\n

While many online expressed their hate for him \u2013 a typical comment on X read \u201cF*** off genocide apologist,\u201d others had words of praise. \u201cYou are a ray of light in great darkness,\u201d wrote @tlvboy82 on Instagram.
