The round comes just eight months after the company emerged from stealth with a $15.5 million Seed round and brings its total funding to more than $50 million.

The company said the new funding comes as an increasing number of Fortune 500 organizations adopt its platform for AI-driven security operations. Since the third quarter of 2025, Mate has grown by more than 500%, according to the company.

Mate was founded in 2025 by Asaf Wiener, CEO; Oren Saban, Chief Product Officer; and Guy Pergal, CTO. The founding team includes veterans of Wiz, Microsoft, Meta, and other technology companies, combining expertise in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The company employs around 50 people, including 40 in Israel and the remainder in the United States.

The startup is targeting one of the central challenges emerging in cybersecurity: existing security operations systems were built for a world of human analysts and traditional software, while AI-powered attacks are accelerating the volume and speed of threats.

“The security manager in an organization needs AI agents that can conduct investigations at a very high level,” Wiener told Calcalist. “But they need to trust these agents to investigate security issues. The second challenge is the ability to adapt to changes and support them effectively. We see this reflected in our growth, with revenue increasing by more than 500%, which is why we are raising capital to meet customer demand.”

Mate’s funding will be used to expand its sales, customer support, and research and development teams. The company plans to roughly double its workforce by the end of the year.

“Since entering the market eight months ago, we have launched our content and investigation products and are getting closer to the data, giving agents the ability to work directly with information from different sources,” Wiener said. “Our focus is the U.S. market, where we see growing demand for solutions like ours among Fortune 500 companies.”

The company was founded by executives with backgrounds at Wiz and Microsoft, and its investors include both cybersecurity-focused funds and Microsoft’s corporate venture arm. Wiener said Microsoft’s involvement provides not only capital but also a strategic partnership and access to advanced AI models.

Mate is developing what it describes as an open platform for “agentic security operations”, allowing AI agents to detect, investigate, respond to, and proactively hunt threats.

At the center of the platform is a patent-pending context layer designed to give AI agents a deeper understanding of an organization’s operations. The company describes this as an “organizational brain” that captures the knowledge of an experienced cybersecurity team and applies it to automated investigations.

Rather than relying only on alerts and predefined rules, Mate’s system combines security information with business context. For example, if an alert is triggered by multiple suspicious login attempts, the platform can determine whether the activity coincided with a planned security test and classify it as a likely non-threat.

Cybersecurity startup Mate Security has raised $35 million in a Series A funding round led by Canaan Partners,…

[20
345,343,344,85,46,125
post-564139","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-artificial-intelligence","tag-ai","tag-artificial-intelligence","tag-artificialintelligence","tag-il","tag-israel","tag-technology
["GET
