\n\tEXCLUSIVE: French film company Path\u00e9 has acquired a 50% stake in Benelux<\/a> distributor The Searchers<\/a> in a strategic partnership extending its activities in the territory.<\/p>\n

\n\tUp until now, Path\u00e9\u2019s presence in Benelux has focused on exhibition via its subsidiaries Path\u00e9 Belgium<\/a> and Path\u00e9 Netherlands<\/a>, which run some 40 cinemas with close to 300 screens across the territory. <\/p>\n

\n\tPath\u00e9 said the strategic partnership would enable it said to become active in film distribution in the territory, in the vein of its distribution operations in France and Switzerland.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u00a0\u201cThis strategic investment empowers us to further strengthen our offerings in the Netherlands and Belgium. Just like Path\u00e9 successfully distributes films in France and Switzerland, expanding to distribution in the Benelux is a natural step,\u201d said Path\u00e9 Chairman J\u00e9r\u00f4me Seydoux.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThrough this partnership, we can bring films produced by Path\u00e9 Films more successfully and reach a larger audience. This aligns perfectly with our ambition to deliver the best films and customer experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company added that the partnership would enable Path\u00e9 Netherlands and Path\u00e9 Belgium to program films produced by Path\u00e9 Films more effectively but noted that both entities remained committed to working with other distributors in the territory.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the same time, the partnership will enrich The Searchers slate. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Antwerp and Amsterdam-based company, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year<\/a>, is known in L.A. circles for its elevated English-language acquisitions and strong relationships with the likes of Rocket Science, Black Bear, The Veterans and Neon.<\/p>\n

\n\tRecent English-language releases have included films such as Roofman, Conclave,\u00a0Ballerina,\u00a0Hot Milk,\u00a0Splitsville\u00a0and\u00a0The Salt Path.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company will carry on working with these types of films while also handling Path\u00e9 titles, kicking off with its recent release of Path\u00e9\u2019s ambitious Charles de Gaulle duology: De Gaulle: Tilting Iron and De Gaulle: The Sovereign Edge.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe expansion into distribution in Benelux comes at a busy time for Path\u00e9 in the wake of its 2025 deal with French-Lebanese logistics tycoon Rodolphe Saad\u00e9, which saw his whose family holding company Merit France took a 20% stake in the studio.<\/p>\n
