\n\tMatthew Macfadyen<\/a> (Succession) and Claire Foy<\/a> (All of Us Strangers) will star in You Are Here<\/a>, a BBC<\/a> and Starz<\/a> adaptation of author David Nicholls<\/a>\u2018 bestseller of the same name.<\/p>\n

\n\tNicholls has penned the eight-part adaptation, which will be produced by Normal People maker Element Pictures<\/a>. Lenny Abrahamson<\/a>, who directed Normal People, is the director. Element parent Fremantle<\/a> has international sales rights, with De Maio Entertainment overseeing the partnership with Starz, which has greenlit the show alongside the BBC.<\/p>\n

\n\tSet along the coast-to-coast walking trail from the Lake District to Robin Hood\u2019s Bay in North Yorkshire in England, You Are Here\u201d will be filmed in the Lake District and around Manchester.<\/p>\n

\n\tMacfadyen and Foy lead the cast as Michael and Marnie, respectively. Per the synopsis, \u201cWhen a mutual friend throws them together, Marnie and Michael unexpectedly find themselves setting off on an epic walk. Against the odds, they end up on the brink of a relationship that neither was looking for, but which might be exactly the one they both need.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m so delighted to be working on You Are Here with Element, the BBC, Starz and Lenny, whose work I\u2019ve admired for many years,\u201d said Nicholls, the prolific author whose book One Day was adapted as a romantic drama for Netflix in 2024. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMatthew and Claire are both just dream casting, wonderful in comedy and drama, so detailed and thoughtful and sympathetic,\u201d he added. \u201cThe intention with the novel was to write a close-up study of a relationship, but set against this magnificent landscape, and that\u2019s our ambition here too; to make something both intimate and epic, funny and dramatic, a romantic comedy with real emotion. We can\u2019t wait to bring Marnie and Michael\u2019s journey to the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAbrahamson called the novel \u201csuch a beautiful love story \u2013 funny, profound and ultimately deeply hopeful,\u201d while Element co-founder and executive producer Ed Guiney praised Abrahamson and Nicholls as \u201ctwo of the most talented creators working today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNicholls Abrahamson are executive producers alongside Foy and MacFadyen, Guiney, Andrew Lowe and Emma Norton for Element Pictures and Jonny Richards and Anna Ferguson for the BBC. The series is produced by Clare Shepherd.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tYou Are Here comes soon after Starz boarded<\/a> another British drama, the Bella Ramsey-led Channel 4 show Maya. Over recent months, it has also acquired has acquired the BBC\u2019s\u00a0Rebecca Hall-fronted\u00a0The\u00a0Listeners<\/a>,\u00a0Sky\u2019s\u00a0Amadeus\u00a0<\/a>and Channel 4\u2019s Russell T. Davies-created\u00a0Alan Cumming-led drama\u00a0Tip Toe<\/a>.<\/p>\n
