You’d think with the World Cup over, we’d be free of the schedule chaos that has afflicted the soaps across the summer so far. Unfortunately, the English Football League Cup means that there’s still some ongoing scheduling changes going into August, but thankfully it’s not to the same extent.<\/p>\n

Next Friday (7 August), both Coronation Street and Emmerdale won’t be airing due to the EFL Cup coverage, as Middlesbrough play Wrexham. <\/p>\n

Those episodes will air on the Sunday (9 August) instead. <\/p>\n

That’s not all, as the Wednesday after (12 August) won’t have any Corrie or Emmerdale episodes either. That’s because Manchester United play Leeds United in a pre-season friendly game.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, as we get into September and the autumn months, things will completely go back to usual, at least until Christmas.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, David Platt actor Jack P Shepherd recently revealed which storyline left him “really upset”<\/a> in Coronation Street, and unsurprisingly it’s the one where Kylie was stabbed in the street by evil Clayton Hibbs, and died in David’s arms.<\/p>\n

“It’s the first time ever, ever working at Corrie, and still is where I’ve actually taken a storyline home with me and been really, really upset and feeling a loss when no one’s dead”, he said.<\/p>\n

His podcast co-host and Nick Tilsley actor Ben Price added: “It was three weeks of just crying and having to go to like a dark place and think of horrific things to get that emotion.<\/p>\n

“It was like, you actually physically went through it. We watched it. And then there was all the aftermath and you went, ‘Oh?’ We were all involved. It felt literally like she’d gone.”<\/p>\n

Coronation Street and Emmerdale both air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX and YouTube.<\/p>\n
