Riley Keough<\/a> is releasing a paperback edition of her late mom Lisa Marie Presley’s<\/a> memoir From Here to the Great Unknown<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n The actress, 36, will release the new version of the memoir on Nov. 11. It will feature a new cover and a “heartfelt afterword” written by Riley, per publisher Penguin Random House.\n<\/p>\n In the afterword, Riley “reflects on the journey of bringing\u00a0From Here to the Great Unknown<\/a>\u00a0into the world and her search for a sign that her mother was at peace with its publication,” according to the publisher.\n<\/p>\n From Here to the Great Unknown was first released in October 2024. Riley had made a promise to her mom that she’d help her finish her memoir prior to her sudden death at age 54\u00a0<\/a>in 2023.\n<\/p>\n From Here to the Great Unknown paperback cover.<\/p>\n Penguin Random House<\/p>\n To finish the memoir, Riley \u2014 the sole trustee of Lisa Marie’s estate and the owner of the family’s home Graceland<\/a> \u2014 listened to tapes of memories her mother had recorded. In them, Lisa Marie talked about her parents Elvis<\/a> and Priscilla Presley<\/a>; her romantic relationships; the balm of motherhood; the\u00a0devastating death of her son Benjamin<\/a>, Riley\u2019s brother; and the redemptive birth of her granddaughter, Riley\u2019s 3-year-old daughter\u00a0Tupelo<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n “Because my mother was Elvis Presley\u2019s daughter, she was constantly talked about, argued over and dissected,\u201d Riley told PEOPLE at the time. \u201cWhat she wanted to do in her memoir, and what I hope I\u2019ve done in finishing it for her, is to go beneath the magazine headline idea of her and reveal the core of who she was.”\n<\/p>\n Riley Keough and Lisa Marie Presley in 2017.<\/p>\n Neilson Barnard\/Getty<\/p>\n Riley said her goal was to turn her mother into a “three-dimensional human being: the best mother, a wild child, a fierce friend, an underrated artist, frank, funny, traumatized, joyous, grieving, everything that she was throughout her remarkable life. I want to give voice to my mother in a way that eluded her while she was alive.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Riley hoped that by sharing her mom’s ups and downs, she could help people feel less alone in their own struggles.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI hope that in an extraordinary circumstance, people relate to a very human experience of love, heartbreak, loss, addiction and family,\u201d she said. \u201c[My mom] wanted to write a book in the hopes that someone could read her story and relate to her, to know that they\u2019re not alone in the world.
