Seth Meyers examined Donald Trump\u2019s lowest approval rating yet as Americans struggle to afford gas and groceries.<\/p>\n
The Late Night host started by taking aim at Trump\u2019s recent justification for attacking Iran after the president said \u201cit\u2019s our turn\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meyers said it was \u201cnot a good enough reason to keep a war going\u201d and that \u201cit\u2019s a military conflict and not Othello\u201d, referring to the board game.<\/p>\n
This week also saw Trump saying he would change the grass in Washington DC parks, comparing it to humans as it has a life also. \u201cDoes that mean grass can also get dementia?\u201d Meyers quipped.<\/p>\n
With Anthony Fauci facing a Senate hearing this week. Trump has claimed that Joe Biden called him to tell him he was no good. Meyers said this was obviously a lie because \u201cif you called Joe Biden, you\u2019d still be on the phone right now\u201d.<\/p>\n
Fauci has been testifying about the origins of Covid, which Meyers joked has Taylor Farms saying \u201cplease don\u2019t be us\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meyers also expressed frustration towards Republicans trying to blame Fauci as \u201cyour boss literally told us to drink bleach\u201d.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s approval rating has hit a new all-time low as, despite claiming during his campaign rallies that he would make America affordable again on day one, prices have instead gone way up.<\/p>\n
Meyers said that the day one claim \u201cshould have been an obvious red flag\u201d as \u201cwhat was the plan for day two?\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump has since attacked the press for asking him about affordability and high prices as he claims they\u2019re not his fault. \u201cYou\u2019re the president!\u201d he said. \u201cOf course they\u2019re asking you why prices are so high!\u201d<\/p>\n
While Americans are struggling, Trump raked in $2bn last year and Meyers spoke about the double standards with rightwing pundits. \u201cObama wore a tan suit once and Republicans lost their minds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The same people also \u201crelentlessly\u201d accused the Biden family of corruption and various crimes despite Joe looking \u201clike a guy that was just about to get pickpocketed\u201d.<\/p>\n
Trump is now the least popular he\u2019s ever been and that includes after January 6 with an approval rating of 32%. \u201cMadam Web has a higher audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes,\u201d Meyers said.<\/p>\n
