{"id":574966,"date":"2026-08-04T23:32:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T23:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/574966\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T23:32:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T23:32:10","slug":"trabzonspor-aim-to-sign-mohamed-salah-this-week-after-opening-transfer-talks-mohamed-salah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/574966\/","title":{"rendered":"Trabzonspor aim to sign Mohamed Salah this week after opening transfer talks | Mohamed Salah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">The Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor say they have begun transfer \u2060negotiations with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/mohamed-salah\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mohamed Salah<\/a>, with the club chair adding they hoped to sign the Egypt forward later this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">\u201cNegotiations have been launched \u2060to transfer professional footballer \u2060Mohamed Salah, \u200bwho is in a free status, to our club,\u201d the club said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">Speaking to the broadcaster \u2060A Spor, the Trabzonspor chair Ertugrul Dogan said that while the transfer was not completed, Salah is expected to arrive \u2060in Istanbul for a medical on Wednesday and then go to Trabzon to sign with the \u200bBlack Sea side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">He did not confirm \u200cwhen the contract would be \u200csigned, but said it would likely be on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2026\/may\/22\/mohamed-salah-leaves-liverpool-having-met-kop-legend-goal\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Salah left Liverpool this summer<\/a> after nine \u200cyears, having scored 257 goals in 442 appearances, where he won the Premier League twice and the Champions League once.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">In the 2024-25 season Salah scored 29 Premier League goals and provided 18 assists, equalling the league record for most goal involvements in a season and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/may\/26\/premier-league-2024-25-review-players-of-the-season\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">setting the record for a 38-game campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">He was named Premier League Player \u200cof the Season and won the Golden Boot and the Playmaker Award, becoming the first player to take all three in one campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">His output \u200bwaned last season, with seven goals and seven assists in 27 league matches and he was left on the bench in Champions League games, leading to a public spat with Liverpool\u2019s then-manager Arne Slot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">The 34-year-old began his career in Europe at Swiss side Basel in 2012 and \u2060later joined Chelsea.
