Like many before him, and many more to come, he failed to read the entirety of a work email and proceeded about his business with incomplete information. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/max-greenfield-new-girl-reunion-scripts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">After telling Today With Jenna &amp; Sheinelle<\/a> that \u201cas far as I know, [the New Girl reunion is] happening,\u201d Greenfield is backpedaling some of his initial excitement, namely because the reunion is not so much a return to the show\u2019s LA loft and more of a live appearance at a Hollywood gala situation. The New Girl cast will reunite to receive the Rising Phoenix Award at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball this October, not for another batch of episodes. <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/scene\/columns\/new-girl-cast-reunion-chrysalis-butterfly-ball-1236827464\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Speaking to Variety<\/a>, Greenfield admits, \u201cI misread the email, or should I say, I just read the subject line, which read, \u2018New Girl reunion.&#8217;\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Rising Phoenix Award recognizes the show\u2019s theme of new beginnings, starting over, and the people who make that possible. It\u2019s a good lesson for Greenfield, who is also hosting the event, so yeah, maybe reading the whole email is a good idea. \u201cI\u2019m still a work in progress,\u201d he continues. \u201cI can only hope this little mix-up doesn\u2019t dim the light we\u2019re trying to shine on such an incredible organization.\u201d We can all start over, bud.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, it\u2019s worth noting that this wasn\u2019t Greenfield\u2019s only screw-up. When promoting the upcoming reunion, he claimed, \u201cI\u2019ve seen scripts, they\u2019re amazing.\u201d New Girl creator Liz Meriwhether was quick to correct him on Instagram, asserting that the scripts \u201cwere <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dbf4A2yxLAn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pretty good until everybody started giving me notes on every little thing<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                            <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Max Greenfield continues his streak as one of Hollywood\u2019s most endearingly relatable stars.
