Diamond-selling nu metal<\/a> sensations Linkin Park<\/a> have announced a documentary about their return and a tie-in live album.<\/p>\n

The California six-piece have confirmed that their new film, Unshatter, will get a cinema release on September 30. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, August 13. Its soundtrack Unshatter: Live In S\u00e3o Paulo, recorded in Brazil during their comeback tour in 2024, comes out on September 25.<\/p>\n

Unshatter will tell the story of Linkin Park\u2019s reunion in 2024, following their inactivity in the wake of former singer Chester Bennington\u2019s death in 2017. Fans will see glimpses of early studio sessions in 2022, the recording of their comeback album From Zero<\/a>, their return to the stage and the blockbuster 18-month From Zero world tour.<\/p>\n

Joe Hahn, Linkin Park\u2019s turntablist and Unshatter\u2019s director, comments: \u201cUnshatter follows a very particular moment in Linkin Park\u2019s history and documents a path through loss, uncertainty, friendship, and reinvention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope longtime fans see parts of our journey they’ve never seen before, and I hope people who are just discovering our music come away with a better understanding of how we got here. But even beyond Linkin Park, I hope people connect with it as a story about relationships, resilience, and what it really takes to move forward when you don’t have all the answers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linkin Park reunited with Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara) on lead vocals and Colin Brittain on drums, replacing ex-member Rob Bourdon. The comeback was initially controversial, with some fans expressing concern over Armstrong\u2019s past ties to the Church Of Scientology and her previous support of convicted rapist Danny Masterson. She responded in a statement, saying, \u201cI do not condone abuse or violence against women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Armstrong didn\u2019t clarify whether she was or has ever been a follower of Scientology, the BBC reported that several of her lyrics in her rock band Dead Sara \u201csuggest criticism and rejection of Scientology’s teachings\u201d. It highlighted lines in 2018\u2019s Heaven\u2019s Got A Back Door, which criticised conservative religious attitudes towards sexuality.<\/p>\n

Despite the furor, From Zero \u2013 released on November 15, 2024 \u2013 was a critical and commercial success. It topped the UK albums chart and hit number two on the US Billboard 200, and has since been certified three-times Platinum in Brazil and two-times Platinum in France.<\/p>\n

The From Zero world tour was one of the biggest in the band\u2019s history, drawing an estimated three million fans worldwide and grossing more than $200 million (\u00a3148,600,000). On June 28, 2025, they played their largest headline show ever at a sold-out Wembley Stadium in London. The following June, they headlined Download festival, becoming the first band with a female singer<\/a> to top the bill at the grounds in Donington Park, UK.<\/p>\n

In a BBC interview at Download, co-singer\/multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda responded to the distinction<\/a>: \u201cI asked [Emily] and she said: \u2018If it wasn\u2019t us, it would\u2019ve just been someone else, because there are so many great female-fronted bands.\u2019 But, she\u2019s so grateful, she wanted you guys to know, she\u2019s so grateful that she is the one and that she\u2019ll remember it forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linkin Park have no further shows on their schedule at time of publication.<\/p>\n
