He admitted he was aware that “sticking the landing is actually the most difficult thing” when it comes to a beloved TV series.<\/p>\n
“Because everybody by that point, many years on down the road, are going to have their own idea of where the show should and\/or what it should be,” he explained.<\/p>\n
“And you can’t satisfy all of those very specific ideas. You can’t give them what they want. You have to give them the thing that they need.<\/p>\n
“And that’s our challenge as adapters, and, you know, I’m willing to take it on – but yes, it is… that lurks in the back of my mind, for sure.”<\/p>\n

House of the Dragon adapts the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of Dragons from George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood.<\/p>\n
With HBO confirming season 4 as the final season, it is set to bring the conflict between Rhaenyra Targaryen and the Hightower faction to its conclusion.<\/p>\n
We’d expect events covered to include the Battle Above the Gods Eye, the Second Battle of Tumbleton, and the Storming of the Dragonpit.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference, Condal teased: “As crazy and big as season 3 was, I think season 4 is going to be even bigger.<\/p>\n
“It’s a great privilege to be able to tell a story and to be able to write the ending, and to control when and where that happens. This is not a given in making television, so we’re very excited to get back in.<\/p>\n
“And we have new characters and new dragons and new locations all to come, that I think are going to make it a very worthy final season.”<\/p>\n
