It’s been another dramatic trip to Emmerdale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) woke up from his coma, questions continued to be asked about who attacked him.<\/p>\n

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was the initial suspect. He knew that Billy had shared a brief kiss<\/a> with his wife-to-be Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley), but was reluctant to accept that she would be unfaithful just weeks before their wedding.<\/p>\n

Hours later, Billy was found unconscious on the floor of the depot.<\/p>\n

Warehouse owner \u2013 and Joe’s uncle \u2013 Caleb Miligan (William Ash) reckoned that his discovery was a motive for committing the crime, and had a quiet word with the investigating officer, which led to his arrest.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ultimately, there was no evidence to support the belief that he was responsible, and he was allowed to leave custody.<\/p>\n

However, in today’s episode, the real culprit was revealed.<\/p>\n

Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) clocked that her husband was behaving suspiciously. She is now well-aware of his dodgy car parts scheme that he’s orchestrated with Billy and Kerry Pollard (Laura Norton), but wondered what else he was keeping under his hat.<\/p>\n

Eventually, Caleb was forced to admit that he’s been plotting to bring down Joe, and that he hoped to keep the CCTV footage of the assault on Billy a secret.<\/p>\n

She’d obtained the footage for herself, and was shocked to see Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) and his dodgy mate Steve Sykes (Jason Done) lurking over his body.<\/p>\n

But why did Kev commit the crime?<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the quaint Yorkshire village, Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) was stunned to see a number of police vans descending on Jacob’s Fold.<\/p>\n

Wife Sarah (Katie Hill) and her grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were escorted out in handcuffs, followed by the body<\/a> of cruel surgeon Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).<\/p>\n

Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) – who helped the women fabricate a story<\/a> to make the murder seem like self-defence – acted oblivious and told Jacob to head to Hotten Police Station.<\/p>\n

Newcomer DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) arrested them both, saying that she needed to rule out foul play.<\/p>\n

Charity gave her statement to investigating officers, while Ramsden offered some tough questions to Sarah. She immediately found issues in their recollections of what happened, confused by the fact Sarah knew the expression on Todd’s face when she was supposedly stood behind her.<\/p>\n

It’s clear that there’s an uncertain future ahead for them both – but although Sarah was bailed and allowed to return to village, Charity was retained in custody.<\/p>\n

Will she be held on remand?<\/p>\n
