\n\tBanijay is expanding its \u201cLuminiscence<\/a>\u201d immersive experience franchise in the U.S. with an installation at New York\u2019s iconic St. Patrick\u2019s Cathedral that opens Oct. 1.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo take viewers through the experience as narrator, the Banijay Live unit behind the \u201cLuminiscence\u201d business has tapped an actor who has logged more than a few miles in Jesus\u2019 robes, Jonathan Roumie<\/a> of \u201cThe Chosen\u201d Bible-themed films and TV episodes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLuminiscence\u201d was created as an enveloping experience light, music and choral performances by comes to one of the U.S.\u2019s most iconic spiritual addresses \u2014 on Manhattan\u2019s Fifth Avenue \u2014 after drawing 2 million visitors across 20 productions in eight countries including France, Spain, the U.K., Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Brazil and smaller locations in the United States. The offerings at St. Patrick\u2019s will vary as will ticket prices, depending on the extent of the experience.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cJonathan Roumie was the natural choice to lend his voice to \u2018Luminiscence\u2019 at St. Patrick\u2019s
Cathedral in New York. His ability to bring authenticity, depth, and humanity to every
performance makes him an ideal creative partner for an experience that invites audiences to
step inside the story in a deeply meaningful way,\u201d said Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re building on an audience that already has a strong connection to this remarkable experience while creating a new way for them to engage with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRoumie said the work on \u201cLuminiscence\u201d at St. Patrick\u2019s was meaningful to him as a \u201cborn-and-raised New Yorker.\u201d The majestic structure \u201chas always been a hallowed icon of faith, architecture and New York itself. Amidst the noisy grind of the city that refuses to sleep, one can find stillness, beauty, and peace among its graceful Gothic arches,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLuminiscence\u201d was created by Lotchi, a unit of Banijay Live devoted to creating immersive experiences \u201cdesigned to spark inspiration and wonder,\u201d per the company. St. Patrick\u2019s fits the bill nicely as North America\u2019s largest Gothic Revival Catholic cathedral.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSt. Patrick\u2019s isn\u2019t just a spectacular venue, it\u2019s a place where generations of New Yorkers have
gathered to celebrate and to hope, said Romain Sarfati, co-founder of Lotchi and creator of
\u201cLuminiscence.\u201d \u201cEvery element of our show, the choir, the orchestra, the projections at the
millimeter, is designed with that weight in mind. We\u2019re not adding light to St. Patrick\u2019s. We\u2019re helping it reveal what\u2019s already there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerformances will run through the end of this year. Leaders of the beloved institution, including Ronald Hicks, Archbishop of New York, are eagerly anticipating the crowds that will be intrigued by the \u201cLuminiscence\u201d installation.<\/p>\n
