August is the last month of summer. Of course, it doesn\u2019t really end until the middle of September, but these are the final few weeks I can embrace the sunshine before I go into full fall mode. Paramount+<\/a> is clearly getting into that mood with its lineup for the month, which includes plenty of movies perfect for watching on a colder evening with a warm drink. To me, there\u2019s just no better feeling than that.<\/p>\n

With plenty of new movies arriving on Paramount+ this month, finding something worth watching can be easier said than done. So, I\u2019ve worked my way through the August 2026 lineup and selected seven movies that stand out from the crowd, each boasting a Rotten Tomatoes score of at least 90%. While a high score isn\u2019t necessarily a guarantee that you\u2019ll love a movie, it\u2019s a good indication that critics were largely impressed.<\/p>\n

Adapted by Richard Tuggle from J. Campbell Bruce\u2019s 1963 account, the screenplay maintains a near-documentary commitment to the real-life timeline and details of the escape.<\/p>\n

This sci-fi thriller was a huge critical and commercial success when it was released in 2013, earning ten Academy Award nominations and taking home seven wins, including Best Director. The movie was widely celebrated for its groundbreaking visual effects and sound design, with legendary director James Cameron even praising its technical achievements and describing it as the movie he had been waiting to see for years.<\/p>\n

The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. \u201cMillion Dollar Baby\u201d probably isn\u2019t the first movie that springs to mind when you\u2019re deciding what to watch this weekend. It\u2019s an undeniably heavy watch, and while that won\u2019t be for everyone, there\u2019s no denying that it\u2019s a film that leaves a lasting impression.<\/p>\n
